Acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion of fine needles into the body at acupoints shown to be effective in the treatment of specific health problems. These acupoints have been mapped by the Chinese over 2,500 years ago and continue to be studied. There are more than 360 acupoints on the body and the decision over which ones to use are based on both function and location. The needles are disposable and sterile. They are used once and discarded in accordance with medical biohazard regulations and guidelines.

The goal of acupuncture is to balance the flow of energy(qi) throughout your body and promote the free flow of qi. Acupuncture influences the body energetically drawing on the body’s innate healing mechanisms.  It works both as a healing protocol and as a preventative treatment modality.  Acupuncture stimulates the production of endorphins and stimulates the immune system.  Acupuncture also causes a lowering of blood pressure, creating an overall feeling of well-being.
